kotak.biz is an easy-to-use payment collection app offering multiple digital collection methods to merchants, such as:

  • Cards (Tap to Phone) - Accept payments from Debit Cards or Credit Cards
  • Scan & Pay (UPI QR) – Generate a UPI QR instantly on your mobile to start accepting payments and get a physical QR kit in a few days.
  • Online Payment Links – Generate a payment link and send to your customer via SMS/WhatsApp/e-mail and let your customers pay using any digital mode of payment, including Cards, net banking, wallets etc.

What services are available on kotak.biz?

kotak.biz is a power-packed payment collection app. Here are a list of things you can do on the app:

  • Get a free physical QR kit & track transactions on the app itself
  • Send your UPI-ID to your customers to collect payments.
  • Collect contactless payments from your customers – using UPI/ Bharat QR, Credit & Debit Cards (Tap on Phone), and Online Payment link (SMS pay.)

How do I download the kotak.biz app?

You can download the application from the Google Play Store, search for kotak.biz and click the install button. Currently, kotak.biz is available only for Android smartphones.

Who can download kotak.biz?

kotak.biz can be downloaded and used by two types of Kotak Current Account customers:

  • Kotak Current Account customers who already have a Kotak POS machine/Physical QR
  • Kotak Current Account customers who do not have a Kotak POS machine/Physical QR and have the entity type Individual/ Sole proprietor

kotak.biz can be used by individual business owners with retail or wholesale businesses like groceries, variety store, pharmacies, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops etc., professionals like doctors, dentists, etc. as well as other entrepreneurs like personal fitness trainers, yoga instructors, makeup artists, etc.

How can I register on kotak.biz?

kotak.biz offers an instant, digital and paperless onboarding experience to Kotak Current Account customers. You can easily login using: 

  • Your registered mobile number and MID of the POS Terminal, if you are a Kotak Current Account customer with Kotak POS machine/ Physical QR
  • Your registered mobile number and authorised signatory CRN (Customer Relationship Number), if you are a Kotak Current Account customer with the relationship type as Individual/ Sole proprietor and do not have a Kotak POS machine/ Physical QR

How much time does it take to complete the onboarding process?

The onboarding process for the kotak.biz app takes just about 2-3 minutes.

What are the charges for using kotak.biz?

There is no installation or rental fees charged for using the kotak.biz app. The merchants just have to pay nominal MDR charges when accepting payments from customers using cards or net banking. Customers can check the MDR charges on the subscription plan along with the Terms & Conditions, during the onboarding process.  

When will I get payment settlement into my account?

Payments are automatically settled within 24 hours on all 365 days, including Sundays and public holidays.

What are Voice Alerts?

For all successful transactions, merchants can now hear voice alerts in 8 languages – English, Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Marathi.

 

With this feature, you don’t need an additional sound box. It works even when your phone is locked and can be enabled/disabled easily from ‘Settings’ option on the kotak.biz app.

How to enable voice alerts?

  • Open the kotak.biz app.
  • Tap on the ‘More’ button (button with three dots) on the top right corner of the Home Screen, then tap on ‘Settings’.
  • Tap on the ‘Voice notification’ slider button to enable it.
  • Select your preferred language and tap on ‘Continue’.
  • Now you can hear voice alerts on your smartphone for all successful transactions.

Can I add sub-users on kotak.biz?

kotak.biz merchants can add up to 6 staff members as sub-users, enabling them to collect payments via UPI, BQR, SMS Pay, Static QR and Khaata. They can also receive Push & Voice Alerts for all successful transactions and view transaction details of the payments collected.

How to add a sub-user on kotak.biz?

  • Open the kotak.biz app.
  • Tap on the ‘More’ button (button with three dots) on the top right corner of the Home Screen, then tap on ‘Settings’.
  • Tap on ‘Manage Sub Users’.
  • Tap on ‘Add new Sub User’.
  • Add staff details such as Name, mobile number, role and email ID. Tap on save and the sub-user will be successfully added.
  • Next, the sub-user will have to download the kotak.biz app and login using the ‘Admin MID’ and their own mobile number.
  • Post OTP verification, the sub-user can start accepting payments from the customers.

How can I apply for pre-approved Business Loans, Overdrafts and BIZ credit card on kotak.biz?

  • Login to the kotak.biz app.
  • Click on the banner page for the offer provided by the bank (this is the pre-approved offer). You will be redirected to the respective Kotak Mahindra Bank page to apply.
  • All details of Insta loan, Digi OD, or BIZ Credit Card will be displayed (on the Kotak Mahindra Bank page), as per your eligibility.

How do I contact kotak.biz Customer Support?

kotak.biz has the functionality of in-app service requests. Please follow the steps mentioned below and get your queries resolved:

  • Open the kotak.biz app
  • Tap on the ‘Question Mark’ icon in the top right corner of the Home Screen
  • Select “Report an issue”
  • Raise the request specific to the query and select preferred call back time
  • The status of your service request will be updated automatically under the ‘History’ tab on Service requests page
