How to Pay Stamp Duty Charges in Kerala?

The State government of Kerala has now made it mandatory to use the e-stamping method for all types of registration that require stamp paper. Hence, you must now use the official registration portal set up by the government for paying your stamp duty charges. Follow the step-by-step guide below to make a successful payment:

  • Visit the official website of the registration department (https://keralaregistration.gov.in/index.php?lang=eng)
  • Click on the ‘Online Application’ option and you shall be redirected to a new page
  • Click on the ‘New User’ option visible under the menu bar and create your login ID
  • Now, select ‘New Token’ and enter the district, taluka, sub-registrar office, etc. correctly.
  • After submitting this, you must now input other details required on the page
  • In case your stamp duty is more than Rs 1 Lakh, then you need to enter the mode of payment
  • Complete the self-verification and review the fee details visible on the screen before clicking on ‘Submit Application for e-Stamp’
  • You can then proceed to the fee payment where you can pay the stamp duty and registration fees together or separately
  • On successful payment, you can download the e-stamp after clicking on ‘View details’ on payment confirmation
  • The e-stamp will have the serial number, GRN and other details which help verify the authenticity of the e-stamp
  • You can finally book a time slot at the sub-registrar office and submit the application to complete the registration of your property

 

Property registration process in Kerala

  • Go to https://keralaregistration.gov.in/pearlpublic/index.php
  • At the home page, select the option of ‘New user’ in the Document Registration section.
  • Complete the process of user registration.
  • Use the ‘login’ option to enter your account.
  • Next select the ‘online token registration’ and ‘available token’ option to get instructions from the website on what to do further.
  • You then have to select the transaction type and get to the next page. The next page involves presenting your information like personal details, property details, etc. After completing the inputs, hit the next button to move ahead.
  • On the next page you have to provide the claimant’s details and then go through different tabs to enter executants details, property details, building details, claimant – property link if any, enclosures, witness details, stamp paper details, etc.
  • Finally, you have to submit these details to the sub-registrar’s office.
  • Once you successfully submit the details, you will get a detailed report of your submission and then you have to choose a mode of payment. Choose an option, make the payment and print the receipt.
  • Submit this printout along with other related documents to the sub-registrar at the time of your appointment.
