Daddy's Chocolate Mousse
 

 

Ingredients

180 ml milk 60 ml cream
35 gm sugar 15 gm custard powder
1 tsp vanilla essence 140 gm dark chocolate
150 gm whipped cream  

Method:

  • Place the milk and cream in a pan and bring to a simmer.Place the milk and cream in a pan and bring to a simmer.
  • Add the sugar and simmer for 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence.
  • Take 2 tablespoons of the milk-cream mixture and whisk it into the custard powder. Add this to the pan and let the mixture cook for 5 minutes. Let this mixture cool down in the fridge.
  • Melt the chocolate in a clean bowl by placing it in a microwave for 30 seconds.
  • Remove and mix well. You may need to put it back for another 20 seconds or until it melts.
  • Add the melted chocolate to the custard. Let this mixture cool.
  • In the meantime, whip the whipped cream until it forms peaks.
  • Fold this into the chocolate custard.
  • Voila! The mousse is ready. Pour into a glass or bowl, garnish with whipped cream or grated chocolate and enjoy!

 

 

 

Dad's Noodles
 

 

Ingredients

1 packet or 200 gm of noodles
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp schezwan sauce
1 cup onion, sliced
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup bell pepper, sliced
1 tsp sugar
1 cup carrot, julienned
1 tbsp coriander, chopped
1 cup spring onion, sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup mushroom, sliced
1 tsp vinegar
1 tbsp garlic chilli paste
 

 

Method:

  • Cook the noodles in boiling water according to the instructions written on the pack. Once cooked, drain the noodles and cool under running water.Cook the noodles in boiling water according to the instructions written on the pack. Once cooked, drain the noodles and cool under running water.
  • Add a few drops of oil to the noodles to prevent them from sticking to each other.
  • In a wok, heat some oil till it almost reaches its smoking point.
  • Then, add the sliced onions, peppers, carrots, spring onions and mushrooms and the ginger garlic chilli paste.
  • Add the soy sauce, schezwan sauce, turmeric and sugar in a small bowl and mix well.
  • Add this mix to the vegetables. Then, add the noodles and toss well. Cook for 5 minutes and season to taste. Serve it hot!
