ActivMoney & Linked term deposits are different.
In ActivMoney, customer needs to place a request to activate the facility, post which any amount above the requested threshold moves to a term deposit which is kept linked to the Savings/Current Account.
Term deposit can be booked by the customer and kept either linked (if ActivMoney is inactive) to the account or keep it as a standalone Term Deposit.
