Aadhaar is one of the most accepted document across financial and other essential platforms. You can use your Aadhaar* as a supporting document to open a bank account. It is essential to link your Aadhaar number with your bank account, if you are availing any State or Central facilitated subsidy.

 

Aadhaar is also required when applying for LPG connection, income tax return, insurance, mutual funds, provident fund and pension. Considering the vital role your Aadhaar number plays in day to day life, it is essential to keep your Aadhaar updated and not to lose it.

 

If you have lost your Aadhaar Card pertaining to some unintended reason, UIDAI has given proper directives on how to retrieve Aadhaar online.

Before you apply for a replacement, there are certain pre-requisites:

  • You should have your Aadhaar Number or Enrollment Number
  • Your registered mobile number or email ID

 

If you have the aforementioned details, it is easy to retrieve a copy of your Aadhaar Card. Visit the UIDAI website, there you will be prompted to input the credentials. Post valid data entry, you will receive an OTP. On entering the OTP, your Aadhaar will appear on the screen. UIDAI will also send your Aadhaar number via SMS.

 

After retrieving your Aadhaar number, visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ to login using your Aadhaar details. Post login, you may choose to download a digitally signed copy of your Aadhar.

 

Aadhaar PVC cards are also available with UIDAI. You have to pay Rs50 to order one. It is usually delivered within five working days. You can also use the mAadhaar App to get a printed copy of your eAadhaar.
