Below is the step by step process:

  • Cardholder visits a Verified By Visa/MasterCard SecureCode enabled Merchant website.
  • Navigates through the site to select the shopping item.
  • Cardholder proceeds to checkout & is asked to enter the customer details.
  • Cardholder is then asked to fill in the relevant payment details including the card details.
  • Once cardholder clicks on the SUBMIT/PAY button, he/she is taken to the Kotak Cards Verified By Visa / MasterCard SecureCode screen wherein she/he has to enter certain details for validations. On successful validation, the customer is asked to create his/her Verified By Visa/MasterCard SecureCode password.
  • On successful creation of password, the transaction is authorized & the cardholder is provided the order Reference Number [Depending on the Merchant].
  • Cardholder will need to enter this password from next internet transaction using Kotak Card

For registration, you will need to first authenticate yourself by entering the details as required. Post positive authentication, you need to create the password to be used for Verified By Visa/MasterCard SecureCode. Thereafter, you can continue shopping on the merchant website.

If you decide not to register immediately and transact through your credit card, then your transaction may get declined and you may not be able to complete the transaction on such website.

  • Once this password is verified, you can set a VBV password of your choice
