Kotak BillPay is a service that provides you with a convenient payment option for most of your recurring payment needs. Through Kotak BillPay, you can pay your bills online in a secure and convenient manner. Kotak BillPay will electronically present your bills, including your telephone bills, electricity bills, cell-phone bills, insurance premia and others. You can view any pending bills; make payment for registered as well as unregistered billers and view the bills paid by you under View Payment History.
You also have the option of payment via your Kotak Credit Cards; this is currently available on Net Banking ( only if logged in via Dynamic Access Code).
You can avail Kotak BillPay on Net Banking / Mobile Banking, by calling up our 24 Hrs Customer Contact Centre or by visiting your nearest Kotak Mahindra Bank branch. All these channels are available for making payments via your Bank Account.
You can use only Net Banking for making utility bill payments via Kotak Credit Cards.
You can avail of Kotak BillPay on Net Banking, Phone Banking - by calling up our 24hrs Customer Contact Centre or by visiting the nearest Branch and even on Kotak Mobile Banking for payments via Bank Account.

To pay using mobile banking; you first need to add/ register a biller on Kotak BillPay, log on to Net Banking. Alternatively you can call up our 24 Hrs Customer Contact Centre or visit the nearest Branch.
This facility is not available on this platform for payments using Kotak credit card.
You will not be able to add billers or set AutoPay on the Kotak Mobile Application. You can only pay bills for registered billers on Kotak BillPay. To add a biller, log on to Net Banking. Alternatively you can call up our 24 Hrs Customer Contact Centre or visit the nearest Branch.
For BillPay using bank account: This facility is available to you if you are registered for Net Banking with transaction rights on "Net Banking" and have at-least one Savings Account or Current Account with independent operating rights.
For BillPay using Credit Card: This facility is available to you if you are registered for Dynamic Access Code enabled Net Banking with transaction rights and have at-least 1 Kotak Credit Card. If you do not have a net banking password, follow the below steps:
If you have independent operating rights for eligible Current/Saving Account , then you can avail of Kotak BillPay through our 24 Hrs Customer Contact Centre. This service is not available for BillPay using Credit Cards.
If you have independent operating rights, to an account, you can avail of this service at the branch with financial transactions on Kotak BillPay like Bill Payments and registering a biller for AutoPay. This service is not available for BillPay using Credit Cards.
For BillPay using Bank Account: This service is currently FREE for Kotak Mahindra Bank customers.
For BillPay using Credit Card: Effective 21st April’14, all BillPay transactions done using Kotak Credit are free.
You can avail of this service by simply logging onto Net Banking and clicking on the BillPay link.
Presentment billers are service providers which present a bill electronically and accept payments against the same.
Presentment and Payment billers are service providers who raise electronic bills and also accept ad-hoc/interim payments too.
Payment billers are service providers which do not present an electronic bill, but accept online payments.
Pay Bill – registered billers electronically present bills to you. Against the presented bill, you can use the ‘Pay Bill’ option to make the payment.
Instant Pay – you can use ‘Instant Pay’, if you wish to make payments for unregistered billers or in the case of registered billers, make a payment without waiting for the bill to be presented. Specific billers accept interim/ad-hoc payments. You can make interim payments to such billers using the Instant Pay option.
You also have the option to Pay Now or Pay at a later date or set up AutoPay.
You have the option for making a Payment at a later date for a registered biller.
If you are scheduling any payment for Pay Later via Kotak Credit Card, please make sure of the following:
You can delete the scheduled payment till the time it is not processed from scheduled payments folder.
Majority of the billers accept payments via Kotak credit cards. However, you will not be able to make Visa Credit Card Payments, Get Money or pay Direct Taxes with your Kotak Credit Card.
To start receiving bills online through Kotak BillPay, you must register the biller in Kotak BillPay.
The biller registration process consists of providing details as required by the biller; these details are will normally be available on the bill you have most recently received.
The request for adding the biller will be accepted, once you click on register and confirm your registration. Once your bill details are verified by the biller, you will start receiving your electronic bills from the next billing cycle.
If the biller details do not match details maintained at the biller’s end, the bill will not be presented and the status of the biller will be shown as ‘Rejected’ in the ‘View/Delete’ section to enable you to enter biller details afresh.
You need to provide your customer account information (each biller requests for information specific to its requirements) while adding a biller, at Branch or our 24 Hrs Customer Contact Centre. This information will be sent to the biller for verification. The biller will verify these details so that bills can be presented to you and you can make payments to them.
You can register the biller with Kotak BillPay, even if the same bill is registered with another bank. You will receive bills for the same at Kotak BillPay too.
When a new bill is presented, we will send you an email and SMS notification on your email id and mobile number registered with the bank. You can then login to Net Banking or call up our 24 Hrs Customer Contact Centre /visit your nearest Kotak Mahindra Branch to pay the bill.
For specific billers, you will be able to make payments without registering, by using the ‘Instant Pay’ option. You can make the payment by entering the specified biller details and payment amount by using the ‘Add Biller’ Option. But you will not get a pay later option for these billers.
No, there are no restrictions on the number of billers you can add.
There are no limits on the number of payments or transaction amount. You can pay as many bills you wish too. However, please ensure you have sufficient balance / available limit in case of credit card.
Yes, you will continue receiving your physical bills as before.
Yes, you can pay bills for others from your bank account after giving the specific biller details.
Yes, you can delete the billers once added. You will not receive electronic bills on Kotak BillPay after the biller is deleted.
Kotak BillPay is a value added service provided to you. You always have the option of paying the bill through any other mode - e.g. Cash / Cheque / Payment Gateway ( payment from billers website).
No, your account/ credit card will not be debited of the bill amount automatically unless you have registered that biller for AutoPay. You have to login and pay the bill or call Customer Contact Centre or give instructions to the Branch by submitting the BillPay Request for bill payment.
AutoPay can be enabled on Net Banking by using the ‘Set/Modify AutoPay’ option and click on ‘Set’ against the registered biller. AutoPay can be set for already registered billers or the option is given to set AutoPay post addition of a biller.
To enable AutoPay at our 24 Hrs Customer Contact Centre, please provide specific biller details to the Customer Care Officer.
For enabling AutoPay at the Branch, please submit the BillPay Request Form providing Biller and AutoPay details.
AutoPay will be effective from the next billing cycle. For bills which have already been presented before you have given AutoPay instructions, please use the ‘Pay Bill’ option.
Please Note: You can set AutoPay via credit card on Net Banking( only if Dynamic Access Code is registered).

Yes, AutoPay can be set up for all types of billers- presentment, presentment and payment and payment only biller.
For ‘Presentment’ and ‘Presentment & Payment’ type of billers, you will be given the option to pay the entire bill amount or set an AutoPay limit. Presented bills will be paid as per the limit set by you.
For ‘Payment Only’ type of billers you can choose the frequency of payment (monthly, quarterly, half yearly, annually), payment date, start date and end date and payment amount. The amount will be paid on the date specified by you.
On receiving a bill, Kotak BillPay will immediately schedule the bill to be paid, the bill be paid four working days before the bill due date. All bills scheduled for payment can be viewed in the ‘Scheduled Bill’ option.
Simply Click on Delete against the bill scheduled for auto payment in the ‘Scheduled Bill’ option. The bill will then move from the ‘Scheduled Bill’ option to ‘View/Pay Bills’.
Yes, once you delete the bill, the same will move to ‘View/Pay Bills‘. You can pay your bills 3 days prior to the due date.
AutoPay limit is an amount specified by you, above which if a bill is presented, the same will not be paid e.g. if you have set a limit Rs. 500 for MTNL biller, and the bill presented to you is Rs 510 - the entire bill will not get processed automatically. If the bill amount exceeds the AutoPay limit, the bill will not get paid automatically. Such bills can be paid through ‘View/Pay Bill’ up to three days prior to the bill due date.
For ‘Presentment’ and ‘Presentment and Payment’ type billers- Bill will be processed 4 days prior to the due date through AutoPay
Incase of ‘Payment Only‘ type of billers payments will be made as per the payment amount, frequency of payment, date of payment mentioned by you.
Yes, this is possible for payment only type of billers. You can specify the payment amount, frequency of payment (monthly, quarterly, half yearly, annually), payment start date and end date.
Yes, you will receive SMS and Email alerts for AutoPay
You can modify AutoPay biller details by clicking on Set/Modify and selecting the ‘Modify’ button against the biller you wish to edit the details for.
On successful payment of your bill, Kotak BillPay will display the confirmation page, which will contain your transaction reference number. This page can be printed and used as proof of payment. In addition, you can view the list of successful payments under ‘Payment History’.
We will assist you in every possible manner to provide you with information on the bills presented and payments that you have made. However, please note that Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited will not be responsible for settling disputes between the biller and you relating to the amounts billed to you. For any specific charge that you might wish to dispute or discuss in a specific bill, you would need to contact your biller directly.
A payment once made cannot be cancelled. However, if you have made a double payment the same will be adjusted by the biller in your next bill.
All customers are eligible for Kotak BillPay. In case you do not want to pay through Kotak BillPay, you can pay your bills through the regular mode of cheque, cash etc.
Bill payment will be updated by the billing company in 3-4 working days. Hence you are requested to make the payment at least 3 days before the due date, to ensure the payment is updated by the biller on time and to avoid any service disruption or late payment charges.
Kotak BillPay service provides you the option to view your transaction details under the ‘Payment History’ section. Prior transactions of up to 365 days will be available.
Recharge on Kotak BillPay is used for recharging your prepaid mobile number or DTH account instantly.
You can use Kotak BillPay recharge facility on Net Banking. Alternatively, you can call up the 24-Hrs Customer Contact Centre or visit the nearest branch for the same.
On Net Banking, post login click on 'Recharge' option under BillPay section. Enter your correct mobile number/ subscriber number and choose your debit bank account for instant recharge.
You can recharge on Net Banking via your bank account or Kotak credit card.(If Logged in via Dynamic Access Code).
The process of recharging is hassle free and instantaneous. You can top up your prepaid mobile phone or your DTH account from the comfort of your home or office. Additionally the recharge service is absolutely free.
On successful debit of your account, the recharge will take place instantly, provided the recharge details are entered correctly.
Kotak Bank will send you alert on payment success (when your account is debited) and Payment failure (in case of payment failure) to your preferred email ID and mobile number registered with the bank. Additionally, also on successful recharge, mobile/DTH operator will send the confirmation of recharge through SMS on your mobile phone. In case you do not receive any confirmation, please check with your mobile/DTH operator.

This service is absolutely free.
There is a daily transaction limit of Rs 5000 for prepaid mobile phones and Rs 10,000 for DTH top ups.
Once the transaction is made, your request for recharge is sent to the operator. If the mobile number is not available with the operator, the recharge will fail and refunds will be processed within 2 working days. However, if the mobile number provided is available with the Operator, it would be recharged, even if a wrong number was entered by the customer, and no refunds would be available.
