When can I transfer funds?

You can transfer funds 24x7 and instantly through IMPS using IFSC and Account Number. You can also make NEFT / RTGS fund transfer 24x7. Requests received after the cut off timing will be executed in the NEFT / RTGS cycle of the next working day.

Can I add someone as a beneficiary or register a biller through Mobile Banking App?

No. Currently, you can’t add someone as a beneficiary or register a biller through Mobile Banking. However, you can add a beneficiary or a biller through Net Banking or Bank Branch or Customer Contact Center. All the added beneficiaries / billers will start reflecting in Mobile Banking, to which fund transfer / bill payment can be made using the App.

However, you can use one-time payment facility to transfer funds to someone even without adding him as a beneficiary. You can also recharge your Mobile / Data Card and DTH without registering the biller.

Can I transfer funds to someone whom I have not added as a beneficiary?

Yes. Using one-time payment facility, you can transfer funds to someone even without adding him as a beneficiary. You can also recharge your Mobile / Data Card and DTH without registering the biller.

Do I need to remember my old PIN for generating new Debit / Credit card PIN?

No. You just need to log in the App using your MPIN and go to Service Requests section. From there, you can directly set a new PIN for your Debit / Credit Card. You just need to enter the Expiry Date and CVV of your card.

How can I set / remove International usage facility from my Debit Card?

You can go to Service Request > Debit Card Requests > Set International Usage option and you can set / remove this facility from your card for any chosen date. In case you are unable to see your card in the drum, your card must either be permanently allowed or permanently blocked for International usage. Please contact the Customer Contact Center for the complete details of your card.

How do I access the Offers section and track my JIFI account status through the App?

Please make sure that you have added the “Offers” and “Kotak JIFI” widget to your “My Kotak”. Go to Settings > Edit My Kotak for the same. Once added, you can see you JIFI Social and Transaction points within the App.
Click on the widgets for the complete details regarding Offers and your JIFI account.

Do I need to remember the IFSC for making one-time fund transfer?

For your convenience, you can choose the IFSC of a few selected banks through the “Select Bank” link while making a NEFT / IMPS Fund Transfer.

What are push notifications and how to enable / disable this service?

Through push notifications, you can get your transaction alerts through your Mobile Banking App. You can access all the notifications of past two days through the “Notifications” widget in My Kotak. It is currently available for Android and iOS users.

If you are an Android user, you can enable / disable this service through the Settings section within the App itself.

If you are an iOS user, you can enable / disable this service through the Settings > Notification Center on your device.

Who can use Kotak Mobile Banking?

Kotak Mobile Banking is offered to the customers who either have a bank account or any other banking relationship. Customers having a Current / Savings Account, a Term Deposit or a Credit Card with access to Active Net Banking or having an Active Debit / Credit Card are eligible to be registered for Mobile Banking.

Will I be charged for accessing the service?

Mobile Banking is offered to our customers absolutely free. There are no charges levied by us for accessing this service. However standard data connection charges (GPRS or Wi-Fi) are applicable as levied by your service providers.

How do I access Kotak Mobile Banking?

Please download the Kotak Mobile Banking Application from app.kotak.com or go to respective application stores (Apple App Store or Google Play Store or Blackberry World).

Which technology / platform is being used to provide this service? Is my handset compatible?

Kotak Mahindra Bank is providing its Mobile Banking App on GSM / CDMA platform.

Kotak Mahindra Bank is providing its Mobile Banking App for iOS (version 4.3 onwards), Android (version 2.2.3 onwards) and Blackberry (version 5.0 onwards) operating system. You can connect using any wireless data connection services (Wi Fi, 2G / 3G / 4G mobile data service).

I have downloaded the application on my handset, now what do I do?

Please start the application and on the login page, click on “Generate MPIN”. Enter your CRN (Customer Relationship Number) and choose either “Net banking”, “Debit Card” or “Credit Card”.

For the Net Banking option, you will need to enter your Net Banking Password and for the Debit / Credit Card option, you will need to enter the 16 digit Card number, Expiry Month & Year, Debit / Credit Card PIN and CVV (3 digit code on the back side of Card present at signature box).

Post successful validation, you can generate your 6 digit MPIN. After this you will receive an SMS with the Activation Key on your registered mobile number (you can also click on the SMS icon put on the Activation Key page). To activate Mobile Banking on your handset, simply forward the complete SMS from your registered mobile number to 9971056767 / 5676788 or contact our 24 Hr Customer Contact Centre or visit your nearest Kotak Mahindra Bank branch.

Can more than one CRN be used on a single device?

No. Two CRNs cannot be registered on same device. In order to login to same device from different CRN, you need to de-register earlier CRN. Either uninstall the application and re-install it or call our 24-hour toll free Customer Contact Centre on 1800 102 6022 or contact the nearest branch for device deactivation for specific CRN.

My CRN got locked, what should I do?

Locking of CRN happens when customer enters incorrect MPIN consecutively 3 times. To unlock, please use the “Forget MPIN” option or call our 24-hour toll free Customer Contact Centre on 1800 102 6022 or visit your nearest Kotak Mahindra Bank branch.

On my device, "Create MPIN" or "Forgot MPIN" feature got locked, what should I do?

Locking of “Create MPIN” or “Forgot MPIN” happens when, while authenticating, customer enters incorrect Net Banking or Debit Card credentials consecutively 3 times. To unlock, please call our 24-hour toll free Customer Contact Centre on 1800 102 6022 or visit your nearest Kotak Mahindra Bank branch.

I have forgotten my MPIN, what do I do?

You can use the Forgot MPIN feature on the application to generate a new MPIN

If I change my handset will I be able to access Kotak Mobile Banking again?

Yes, in case you change your handset, you would be required to install the application on your new handset and follow the procedure of registration as explained above. Once registered, you can access your accounts from your handset again. You can access your accounts from multiple handsets and / or tablets using the same CRN and MPIN. However, only one CRN can be registered from one handset.

How secure is Kotak Mobile Banking?

Our mobile banking platform uses secured HTTPS protocol for communication between the mobile client and the mobile server. Secure Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTPS) uses HTTP, but, additionally activates Web server security, in the form of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). This means that the communications between the client and the (host) Web server are encrypted. Thus, it is our endeavor to provide customers, a highly secured environment to conduct their business with us. Additionally, all application related information stored in device is encrypted.

Can I access Kotak Mobile Banking if I have not registered for Net Banking?

Yes, Mobile Banking is a separate channel from Net Banking channel. You would require an active Debit Card or Credit Card to register for Mobile Banking.

What precautions do I need to take for accessing Mobile Banking?

Please note the following:

  • Please memorize your MPIN and do not write it anywhere. Please don't disclose your MPIN to anyone, including Kotak Mahindra Bank staff
  • Please change your MPIN at regular intervals
  • Please don't use obvious MPINs (like mobile or landline number, date of birth, etc.)

What is the difference among SMS Banking, USSD Banking (NUUP) and Mobile Banking?

SMS Banking is offered as a convenience banking service where you can receive information based on SMS requests you place in a specified format. This service can be accessed by any customer having a registered mobile number with Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Mobile Banking is an advanced service that Kotak Mahindra Bank is offering to customers who have access to a Smartphone or a Tablet for downloading the application. Using Mobile Banking you can perform many more transactions in a secure and convenient way as compared to SMS Banking. These include facilities like fund transfers and investments in Mutual Funds.

USSD Banking is an interactive menu based service where information required can be gained through a real time session. Information flows to and fro in a real time session thereby providing the user with the information output required. Banking services can be availed on any kind of mobile phones on GSM network only. Balance enquiry & IMPS fund transfer features are presently available on USSD Banking.

I have been using Kotak Mahindra Bank's earlier JAVA based Mobile Banking application. Can I now use the new version?

No, you cannot use Java based mobile to install the new Mobile Banking App. The new App is compatible only with iOS (version 4.30 onwards), Android (version 2.2.3 onwards) and Blackberry (version 5.0 onwards) operating systems. You can access the application from multiple handsets and / or tablets using the same CRN and MPIN.


  • Kotak Mobile banking platform uses secured Https protocol for communication between the mobile client and the mobile server. Protected by the most stringent security systems, Kotak Mobile Banking allows you to transact over a completely secure medium.
  • Once the application is downloaded and installed, you will have to first generate the MPIN by clicking on “Create MPIN”
  • You will have to enter your CRN (Customer Relationship Number) and choose either “Net Banking” or “Debit Card” or “Credit Card” for authentication. For the Net Banking option, you will need to enter your Net Banking Password and for the Debit Card / Credit Card option, you will need to enter the 16 digit card number, Expiry Month & Year, Debit Card / Credit Card PIN and CVV (3 digit code on the back side of  card present at signature box).
