What is Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment
Gateway service? Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment Gateway
is a web based service which enables you to make online purchases
across various shopping sites or to transfer money from your
registered Kotak Mahindra Bank Account(s) to your trading
account with Kotak Securities or to a domestic VISA Debit/Credit
card or for making utility payments, subscribe to magazines,
pay insurance premia or make donations online. Currently we
have tied up with Kotak Securities for Payment Gateway access
to Kotak Online Trading, with Indian Airlines
and CC Avenue (a master merchant that has a tie up with number
of merchants(online shopping sites) for online payment facility)
for Payment Gateway access to kotak - Online Shopping
and with IndiaIdeas.com (a service provider that enables payments
of utility bills, donations, subscriptions, kotak
- VISA Money Transfer and insurance premium) for
Payment Gateway access to Kotak Direct Pay.
Going forward we shall be enabling this service for a host
of other online merchants.
You can access this service currently either by re-direction
from kotaksecurities.com or indian-airlines.nic.in
when you select Kotak Mahindra Bank account as your
payment account or by selecting Kotak Direct Pay or kotak
- VISA Money Transfer on www.kotak.com.
You can also access this service by visiting various shopping
sites that have a tie up with CC Avenue.
Which service providers can I pay for?
In September' 03, we had launched Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment
Gateway service with kotaksecurities.com, Kotak Securities'
online trading portal (Kotak Online Trading).
In On January’ 05, we had launched Kotak Direct
Pay services (through a tie-up with IndiaIdeas.com)
that allows you to make utility payments, give donations,
subscribe to magazines and make insurance premium payments
online. The same has been enabled for over 60 companies across
42 cities. In April’ 05, we had launched kotak
- VISA Money Transfer which enables you to transfer
your funds to any domestic VISA Debit / Credit card. In September’
05, our exciting new addition - kotak - Online Shopping
(through a tie-up with CC Avenue) enables you to make online
purchases across various shopping sites. On Jan 1, 2007, we
have added Indian Airlines to our ever growing list of merchants
for online shopping. Click

How do I avail of Kotak Mahindra Bank
Payment Gateway service? Payment Gateway is available
to customers of Kotak Mahindra Bank who have availed of Net
Banking facility. NRIs, foreigners and people with conditional
operating authority are currently not eligible for Payment
Gateway Kotak Online Trading service. However
NRIs and foreigners are eligible for Payment Gateway Kotak
Direct Pay, kotak - VISA Money Transfer and
kotak - Online Shopping service.
- If you are a new customer, by ticking the Payment Gateway
option in the account opening form.
- If you are an existing customer, by ticking the Payment
Gateway option in the Channel Access Request Form
- If you are an individual customer, click
here to download the form.
- If you are an operating authority of a company / club
/ society / association / partnership / sole proprietorship
/ HUF, click
here to download the form.
Simply complete the form and drop it in any of the Document
Drop Boxes at our Branches or ATM lobbies. Alternatively you
may mail it to us at Customer Contact Centre, Kotak Mahindra
Bank Ltd., Post Box Number 16344, Mumbai 400 013
If you are already a registered Kotak Mahindra Bank Net
Banking customer, you can log in to Net Banking on www.kotak.com
and click on My Requests option post logging
in and select Register for Payment Gateway.
You will be registered within 2 working days of our receiving
your request.
How do I avail of Kotak Online
Trading, kotak - Online Shopping or Kotak Direct Pay / kotak
- VISA Money Transfer services?
If you are an existing customer and are registered for Payment
Gateway, you will automatically be enabled for Kotak
Online Trading, Kotak Direct Pay, kotak - VISA Money Transfer
and kotak - Online Shopping services of Kotak
Mahindra Bank Payment Gateway depending on your eligibility.
If you are a new customer, registering for Payment Gateway
as mentioned above will enable you for this facility depending
on your eligibility.
What are the eligibility criteria
for getting Payment Gateway access?All individual customers except Minors, with unconditional operating authority on any Kotak Mahindra Bank Savings / Current account can get Payment Gateway Kotak Online Trading Access, Payment Gateway Kotak Direct Pay Access / kotak - VISA Money Transfer Access and Payment Gateway kotak - Online Shopping Access. However, Non Resident Indians and foreigners are only eligible for Payment Gateway Kotak Direct Pay / kotak – VISA Money Transfer and Payment Gateway kotak - Online Shopping.
In case of many accounts, how do I
get access on all or some accounts? When you register
for Payment Gateway service, all existing eligible accounts
(or those opened in the future) under your Customer Relationship
Number with us will automatically get access to Payment Gateway
Kotak Online Trading, kotak - Online Shopping and Payment
Gateway Kotak Direct Pay / kotak - VISA Money Transfer service.
In case you wish to,
- register only for one of the three services - Kotak Online
Trading / Kotak Direct Pay / kotak Online Shopping or
- have different accounts enabled for each of the services
or
- restrict any of your accounts from having access to any
of the three services
you simply need to write in to us specifying what you wish
us to do. Drop your request either in the Document Drop Boxes
at our Branches or ATM lobbies. Alternatively you may mail
it to us at Customer Contact Centre, Kotak Mahindra
Bank Ltd., Post Box Number 16344, Mumbai 400 013. You
may also advise us via our Secure Mail facility
by logging in to Kotak Mahindra Bank Net Banking and clicking
on the My Mail link on the top right hand
red band.
Are there any limits for my payments
done using Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment Gateway service?
No. As transactions will be done in a completely secure environment
you can make payments up to the available balance in your
selected account. However for kotak - VISA Money Transfer
you can only transfer funds from a minimum of Rs 100/- to
a maximum of Rs 1,00,000 per transaction and for kotak –
Online Shopping transactions done through shopping sites through
our tie up with CC Avenue, a per transaction / day limit has
been fixed at Rs.50,000.
What are the charges for using Payment
Gateway? There are currently no charges for using
Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment Gateway services. We are offering
the facility of making payments for online trading, online
shopping, transferring funds to any domestic VISA Debit /
Credit card, making utility payments / donations and paying
for subscriptions/insurance premium online absolutely free
as a value added convenience for all our customers.
How do I use Payment Gateway?
You need to register for Payment Gateway as explained above.
You need to have your Net Banking User ID and Password ready

Can I cancel my payment made through
Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment Gateway? NO. A payment
once confirmed cannot be cancelled as the same is debited
to the customer account online. You will need to contact the
Company / Merchant to whom the payment is made for a refund
in case you wish to cancel your payment. However in case of
kotak - VISA Money Transfer you cannot request for any refund.
Can I pay on somebody else's behalf
using Payment Gateway ? You can transfer funds
to any domestic VISA Debit / Credit card, make utility payments,
insurance premia payments and subscriptions or purchase through
online shopping on any one else's behalf using Kotak Mahindra
Bank Payment Gateway and Direct Pay Services. You simply need
to enter online details pertaining to the person on whose
behalf you are making online payments. Please note, however
you are not to pay for Online Trading on behalf of anyone
else as per SEBI guidelines. You should only transfer money
using Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment Gateway from your Bank account
to your Trading Account with Kotak Securities.
Do I get any proof for my payments
made online using Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment Gateway service?
For all payments made through Payment Gateway services like
Kotak Online Trading, Kotak Direct Pay, kotak - VISA Money
Transfer and kotak - Online Shopping you will get a confirmation
screen showing details of the payments made. Additionally
in your Statement of Accounts, all online utility payments
/ purchases will reflect. For example a payment of Rs 1254.36
towards a telephone No. 26253322 to MTNL Delhi on 15th of
December 2004, will appear as - <<15/12/2004
DP MTNL(D) 26253322 xxxxxxxxxx Rs 1254.36>>
where xxxxxxxxxx is the unique Bank reference no. that will
display on your payment confirmation screen.
A fund transfer of Rs.1500 towards the Credit Card of Ravi
P Sharma on 15th of March 2005, will appear as - <<15/03/2005
IB:VMTRF Ravi P Sharma xxxxxxxxxx Rs 1254.36>>
where xxxxxxxxxx is the unique Bank reference no. that will
display on your payment confirmation screen.
A payment of Rs 2,000.00 towards online purchases of products
from seasonsindia.com on 25th May'2005 will appear as - <<25/05/2005
OS:CCAV SEASONSINDIA xxxxxxxxxx Rs 2000.00>>
where xxxxxxxxxx is the unique Bank reference no. that will
display on your payment confirmation screen and “SEASONSINDIA”
is the short name of the website on which you have purchased
the products.
A payment of Rs. 3000.00 towards online purchases from Indian
Airlines on Jan 26, 2007 will appear as - <<26/01/2007
OS:INDIAN XXXXXXXXXX Rs.3000.00>> where xxxxxxxxxx
is the unique Bank reference no. that will display on your
payment confirmation screen and “INDIAN” is the
short name of the website on which you have purchased the
products.
Similarly, a payment of Rs 10,000.00 towards settlement payment
for your Kotak Securities Online trading account on 25th December'2004
will appear as - <<25/12/2004 KOTAK ST SP zzzzz
xxxxxxxxxx Rs 10000.00>> where xxxxxxxxxx is
the unique Bank reference no. that will display on your payment
confirmation screen and zzzzz is your kotak street Client
ID.
While trying to access Payment Gateway
I get an error message.Please check your User ID and
password. Please note that password is case sensitive ('a' is
different from 'A'). The other reasons for error could be:
- Your browser is not compatible with our application. Please
use Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher version.
- You have entered the wrong password three times in a day.
Your User ID is locked in this case to prevent somebody
from guessing your password and getting access to your account.
Your User ID will automatically get enabled the next day.
- You have instructed us to block your Net Banking User
ID. If you want to unblock your User ID, please call our
24 Hrs Customer Contact Centre.
- Our server may be temporarily down on account of maintenance/
upgrade activities, please try logging in after some time.

Can I request for revocation of
Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment Gateway service?Yes.
You can request for Payment Gateway revocation by giving written
request to the Bank. Simply drop your request either in the
Document Drop Boxes at our Branches or ATM
lobbies. Alternatively you may mail it to us at Customer
Contact Centre, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., Post Box Number
16344, Mumbai 400 013. You may also advise us via
our Secure mail facility by logging in to
Kotak Mahindra Bank Net Banking and clicking on the My
Mail link on the top right hand red band.
You can request for revocation at three levels:
- Request for removing access to Kotak Mahindra Bank Payment
Gateway service totally
- Request for removing access to either Kotak Online Trading
or Kotak Direct Pay or kotak - Online Shopping service retaining
access to the other service
- Request for moving access for specific accounts to Kotak
Mahindra Bank Payment Gateway and all its services or only
from a specific service – Kotak Online Trading or
Kotak Direct Pay or kotak - Online Shopping.
Please ensure your Request clearly states your Customer Relationship
Number and which option you are requesting for. In case of
account level access removal please ensure you have clearly
stated your required account no.(s). Your Request will be
actioned within 3 working days of receipt of your request.
